A Butterfly Born in the Debris Field
Under the warm spring sunshine, something coming out of a chrysalis was a white butterfly. The wrinkled wings were gradually unfolded and finally became beautifully stretched ones. The baby butterfly began flying feebly and faintly.
When he looked up, there was a clear blue sky.
"It's really wide and beautiful. I'm so happy," he said.
But as he looked down, there were chips and debris all over there.
"Where should I go?" He decided to fly as far as he could.
Since butterflies can fly within only around 20m in radius, even though he flied and flied, he could only see something broken and debris covered with mud. It looked as if some irresistible force had come to destroy everything in the blink of an eye and gone away. He became tired and had a rest under a chip. There were ants and sow bugs working hard. “What are you doing? What shall I do?” he asked. “I’m very busy. What can you do?” a bug asked. “I wonder what I can do. I have no idea,” he answered. “I’m very sorry about that,” the bug curtly said and kept on working.
Suddenly, he caught sight of a shadow of something that had big wings. He hastily hid under a chip. “What big wings it has. I don’t know why but it’s very scary, while he might tell me where I should go.” Then the chip said “Stay calm until the bird goes. That bird tries to eat you.” “That is called a bird. I’m hungry too, and thirsty,” he said. Then tiny water balls began to drop one after another from the sky onto the ground. Soon it became a small puddle. The water said “Drink me.” The butterfly sucked the water stretching his mouth. “It’s really good. Thank you. I have become spirited. Say, will you tell me what to do?” “You should keep your hope. Then you will surely come to know it,” said the water. The lonely butterfly didn’t know where to go or what to do, but as his body had been refreshed by drinking the water, he was filled with energy to live.
