JAPANESE KIMONO
There are several kinds of KIMONO wear according to the occasion you wear for, such as daily use, formal, semi-formal and outing.
Let us introduce FURISODE for the formal occasions such as Shichigosan, the coming-of-age ceremony, wedding, New Year's Day and so on.
FURISODE is usually worn by young women before marriage. Although there are no rules about the age of women, FURISODE is rather showy and its long sleeves are for attracting men, married women are refrain from wearing FURISODE and usually wear short sleeved Kimono.
Girls wear Furisode on their SHICHIGOSAN ceremony at the age of three and seven.
JAPANESE SASHES FOR KIMONO

There are three rules to choose a sash of good harmony with your kimono.
The main patterns on your kimono, such as crane, fan, plum flower, bamboo tree or leaf, orchid, chrysanthemum, treasure ship, bird etc., show the rank of your kimono. Combination of different ranks is not so good and your sash should have harmony with your kimono.
It is the same with the material your kimono is made of. Harmony of the color is also the important element if you enjoy wearing Kimono. Your favorite color with good balance and harmony of the kimono and sash expresses your sense of fashion, which is the same as you dress up in Western clothes.
OMIKUJI
Are you interested in fortune telling?
At shrines and temples in Japan, you can buy a fortune slip called Omikuji. Omikuji tells you the rank of your luck in the near future. The number of the rank varies depending on the shrine and temple. Even when you get a worst fortunetelling, you don’t have to worry about that, because it is said to warn and encourage you to take care of yourself and behave yourself to invite good luck.
It usually has a maxim or proverb that is helpful to improve your bad luck or predicts what kind of good luck you will have.
Tip: The price varies from about 100 yen to 400 yen.
Usually, Omikuji has seven ranks of fortune.
Daikichi (大吉): best
Chukichi(中吉): second best
Shokichi(小吉): third best
Kichi(吉): good
Suekichi(末吉): good luck will come to you later
Kyo(凶): second worst
Daikyo(大凶): worst
Dai(大) means big, chu(中) middle and sho(小) small.
Kichi(吉)means good.
Kyo(凶) means bad.
GAGAKU（雅楽）: JAPANESE COURT MUSIC
Have you ever heard of Gagaku (雅楽), Japanese traditional music succeeded as a Court Music? We Japanese also seldom have an opportunity to listen to the live performance of GAGAKU. The sound of Sho(笙) is really beautiful and makes heavenly atmosphere.
There are other two wind instruments for Gagaku. One is Hichiriki(篳篥) and the other, Ryuteki(竜笛). The sound of Sho expresses heaven, Hichiriki, this world and Ryuteki, between the heaven and the world.

Stained Glass is beautiful but the work must be very hard.
These works are by a woman who lives in Izumi ward Sendai city. She began making these stained glass works as her hobby about 20 years ago. She says that the process of selecting glass of suitable colors to her image, cutting glass into pieces according to her designed shapes and arranging them is the most enjoyable stage of her work. But soldering those pieces needs a deft and fine performance, so she is tensed with handling them.
